President Biden gets booster shot on camera

Article written by Christian Datoc, reporter for the Washington Examiner

President Joe Biden received his third coronavirus vaccine on camera and delivered televised remarks Monday afternoon to lobby support for his administration’s rollout of COVID-19 boosters for certain at-risk populations.

Throughout the event, Biden cracked jokes about his age, stating that although “it doesn’t look like it,” he is over 65 years old and therefore eligible to receive the COVID booster.

“People over 65, which is hard to acknowledge — I’m only joking folks,” the president said, before continuing: “Adults with certain underlying health conditions like diabetes, obesity, and those who are at increased risk of COVID-19 because of where you work or where you live, like healthcare workers, teachers, first responders, grocery store clerks. If you fall into these categories, you’re eligible for the booster.”

Biden now taking questions while in the chair.

Responding to some criticism from other countries on moving forward with boosters before all countries get first shots, Biden told reporters the US is doing more than any other country and can do both, donate doses and do boosters
