Heroic celebrities write a letter in an attempt to save the environment

In an attempt to defund the Canada Gas Pipeline a bunch of Avengers and Hollywood celebrities got together to write a letter to City National’s parent company, the Royal Bank of Canada.

The letter asks the Royal Bank of Canada to “withdraw support from the Coastal GasLink pipeline, effective immediately.” And claims, “City National Bank’s parent company Royal Bank of Canada is bankrolling the climate crisis.”

More than 65 celebrities, including Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Stiller, Jane Fonda, and Susan Sarandon, got together to send the letter to the Royal Bank of Canada.

These types of stories drive me crazy in a time when we’re facing so many challenges. Things are tough right now, and personally, I’d much rather rely on North America to make sure we can drive our cars and heat our homes instead of relying on Russia or Saudi Arabia, or Iran.

If this is so important to these movie stars, here’s my advice: Why don’t you take your combined fortunes and CREATE something that helps the environment or FUND something that helps make us not be so dependent on gas and oil?

But you won’t do that, because it’s hard and expensive. You’d rather just write a letter and then go look at yourself in the mirror and think about how lucky the world is to have such a great person in it.
