Build Back Better is “Dead”, Just Like the Rest of Biden’s Agenda

Posted by katiefitzpatrick on February 4, 2022 in Featured, National News | Leave a response

Written by Tony Colombo, Host of Colombo and Katie

Senator Joe Manchin declared yesterday that Build Back Better, President Joe Biden’s signature piece of legislation, the massive spending bill that would address social and environmental issues across the country… is “dead.”

Manchin used the strongest language to date when asked about the bill by reporters. The Senator repeated the opinion that he has held since at least December: Build Back Better as it currently stands, and the way it’s been discussed in all conversations to this point, is not something he supports.

He maintains that he’s open to more debate if the contents of the bill are altered, but backers of the legislation say they have already changed it to appease lawmakers like Manchin and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, and they have not shown any interest in changing it further.

When asked directly about the bill Manchin said, “What Build Back Better bill? There is no, I mean, I don’t know what you’re all talking about.”

When asked if he’d had any recent talks about it, he added, “No, no, no, no. It’s dead.”

What’s truly amazing is the fact that President Biden has a perfect record, because the same thing can be said about everything he’s tried to accomplish. Build Back Better, federal control over voting rights, ending the filibuster, and many more… all dead.
