Crime numbers for STL are public for the first time this year

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department released the crime statistics for the first time in 2021.

KSDK reported that between January and the middle of June 2021, aggravated assaults and shootings were 53 in downtown St. Louis, 58 in Baden in north city, and 79 in Dutchtown.

Do the neighbors and folks living in these communities feel safe? According to Dan Isom, the city’s Interim Public Safety Director, homicide rates have decreased. Fox 2 News reported a 23.8 % decline compared to this time last year.
