Congressman Billy Long disputes Rolling Stone article written over his comments about Uvalde

Congressman and candidate for Senate Billy Long ruffled some feathers when he talked about the increase in mass shootings and compared them to how society deals with abortions.

In his interview with Columbia, Missouri’s 93.9 The Eagle:

“When I was growing up in Springfield, you had one or two murders a year,” he said. “Now, we have two, three, four a week. So, something has happened to our society. I go back to abortion — when we decided it was OK to murder kids in their mothers’ wombs. Life has no value to a lot of these folks.”

This quote stood out so much that Rolling Stone picked it up and wrote an entire article “Add Abortion to the List of Things Republicans Are Blaming for Uvalde”.

The Congressman joined The Tim Jones and Chris Arps Show on Thursday to explain his comments and talk about how American culture has pushed devaluing life from the very start.
