Republican Glenn Youngkin wins VA Governor race

Posted by katiefitzpatrick on November 3, 2021 in Featured, National News | Leave a response

Written by Katie Fitzpatrick

Glenn Youngkin won the Virginia gubernatorial race last night, shaking the Democratic party to the core and bringing hope to Republicans around the nation.

The victory over Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe came as no shock to conservatives, even though this was the first time a Republican won the governorship in Virginia in over a decade. McAuliffe’s campaign went downhill as soon as he started campaigning against parents having control over what is taught in the classroom. This fight was centered around education but expanded to other aspects of the “woke” agenda that American’s do not seem to be keen with.

It seems that this race was a referendum on President Joe Biden’s policies altogether. Not only was Youngkin the winner last night, but Winsome Sears will also make history as Virginia’s next lieutenant governor, while Jason Miyares claimed victory as the new attorney general. A huge night for Republicans and a blueprint of what we need to be doing moving forward in 2022 and 2024.
