White House principal deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre rolled out a new strategy Wednesday, criticizing congressional Republicans who oppose President Joe Biden’s social spending legislation.
A reporter flying with the president to Kentucky pressed Jean-Pierre on when recipients of the expanded child tax credit, set to expire on Wednesday, can expect to resume receiving those payments. Jean-Pierre first claimed the expanded CTC has “cut child poverty by half” before flipping it on Republicans.
