On October 24th, 2025, an American hero returned home to his family and to his country. 2nd Lieutenant Charles Arnao of Cherry Hill, NJ gave the ultimate sacrifice on or about January 9th, 1945.
He had been captured by the Japanese Army in 1943 and, along with other POWs, was being moved to Manila when the transport ship they were on was sunk by US forces. His remains were confirmed in March of 2025.
