Once again, President Joe Biden’s administration has made it abundantly clear that the only functioning lights at the White House are the gaslights. And there are so many of them, it’s hard to keep track.
Inflation: the news this week is that inflation for the month of July was 0%. Of course, that’s only true if you compare the year-over-year inflation in July (8.5%) with the year-over-year inflation in June (8.5%) and conclude that July being equally as bad as June is somehow a positive thing. And even if you swallow that whopper, it can’t disguise the fact that the everyday cost of living is not getting any less painful.
Gas prices: after months of claiming that skyrocketing gas prices are entirely the fault of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his war on Ukraine — despite the fact that prices had almost doubled before the invasion began — the White House is now bragging about a $0.50 price drop. They’re banking on the American people believing two things: first, that gas is still nearly $2 more per gallon than it was when Biden took office; and second, that if the price increase was Putin’s fault, Biden would not deserve credit for any subsequent decrease.
The raid: almost immediately after FBI agents swarmed Mar-a-Lago, media talking heads and Democrats alike balked — and complained that it shouldn’t be called a “raid.” But as Fox News host Jesse Watters asked, “What else do you call it when they come with guns and go through everything?” Greg Gutfeld had the obvious answer: “It’s obviously one of those bachelorette scavenger hunts.”
But raid or scavenger hunt, the FBI better have something — because if they don’t, 8/8/22 will mark the first day in history that an FBI raid could be listed as an in-kind campaign donation for the target of the said raid.
