The January 6th Commission is moving forward with subpoenas

Opinion by Paul Curtman

Walter Cronkite once remarked about his time as a broadcaster, saying, “In seeking truth, you have to get both sides of the story.” Seeking truth is one thing the democrats in congress have abdicated and you need to look no further than Nancy Pelosi’s handling of the democrat-led committee formed to investigate the breach of the U.S. Capitol building on January 6. The democrats already have a majority in Congress which would require that they keep a proportional majority on the committee. Even with a majority on the committee, Nancy Pelosi still couldn’t leave well enough alone. She instead decided to reject two republican members put forward to serve on the committee, choosing instead to handpick the GOP members herself – specifically, members of the GOP that would fall in line with the left’s narrative of January 6th and President Trump in general.

This is a blatant attempt to control the questions being asked by the committee and steer it to a conclusion already reached by Pelosi and her cohorts in congress.  Furthermore, Liz Cheney, one of Pelosi’s republicans, has already signaled her desire to subpoena the republican minority leader, Kevin McCarthy, as a material witness and possibly lock him out of any ability to lead where the administration of this investigation is concerned.   The fact that Nancy Pelosi has almost unilaterally designed this committee to reinforce her leftist bias is probably what prompted McCarthy to conclude that she “has destroyed the select committee’s credibility.” I agree. As much as I was angered about my nation’s capital being breached, I’m as equally angry about the breach of integrity where Pelosi’s leadership is concerned.

The Jan 6th commission is moving forward with subpoenas. This committee, even GOP members, were handpicked by Pelosi, something you do when you want your narrative & spin to speak louder than the search for truth. This commission has lost all credibility.https://t.co/hZsavQ7jzI
