President Joe Biden doubled down on his calls to increase funding for police, combat gun violence, and speak power to “MAGA Republicans” in lengthy remarks on his Safer America Plan in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday.
The trip saw Biden returning to his childhood home near Scranton, Pennsylvania, and officially started his cross-country midterm election push. In addition to touting his recent legislative achievements, Biden is expected to spend the next 90 days outlining his and Democrats’ proposals to fight rising crime across the country.
