White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre defended President Joe Biden’s economic policies, claiming that despite historic inflation, the number of U.S. adults feeling “financially comfortable” is at its highest point since 2013.
Her comments came during a tense exchange Tuesday with Fox News’s Peter Doocy about a recent Wall Street Journal poll that suggested 61% of the country is “generally pessimistic about people having an opportunity to achieve the American dream” due to the current economic climate.
